Duchess of Cambridge gives birth to daughter - Buckingham Palace Formally Confirms Birth of Royal Baby

The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby girl, Kensington Palace has announced. 

The princess was born at 8.34am this morning weighing 8lbs 3oz, with the Duke of Cambridge present for the birth.

A Kensington Palace spokesman said this morning: 'The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news. 

'Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.'
